The ”flame-keeper” of Haltiatuli is Finnish ceramic-artist Laura Nurmi (born 1980 in Turku, Finland):
"Making of ceramics started as a dear hobby (2007) – clay enchanted me completely and I knew that I had finally found my thing. It became my passion, and I decided to go study ceramics. In the spring of 2011 I graduated from the culture sector of Vocational Institute of Forssa (Tammela, Finland), I was now a ceramic artisan. I joined to a cooperative-society Turun Tuulenpesä for a year and a half, there I got valuable experience and courage for taking the next step: a dream of starting my own company came true at the start of May 2013.
At the moment I don't have the company anymore, but I continue making ceramics as a dear hobby. My workplace is located at Fimbul Artist Studio Space in Turku, Finland. In the future (hopefully very soon) I'm dreaming of moving to countryside/ archipelago, where I can be surrounded by nature.
I still plan to visit a couple of different fairs and events in Finland per year, where I sell Haltiatuli-ceramics myself. If you got interested of my products and would like to know more about how to buy them, please don't hesitate to contact :) "
